I'm back in the saddle again

I have been riding for the last few days. I made it into New Mexico. I'm heading to Austin for sxsw. Riding threw the desert is amazing.Last night I listen to coyotes howling at the moon all night long. It was kinda frightning.

I decided to catch a bus to Arizona. My bike is not working right and i need some time(money) to fix it. My sister lives in Phoenix and i can stay with her for a bit and get my situation settled.
its been a bit since i have updated.
The last time i updated i was asleep on the side of Highway 101 in California.
A storm came threw and I woke up to the rain. After breaking down my "campsite", I looked into fixing my rear wheel. It turns out i dented the rim. While descending the last hill I believe i hit a large rock in the road. Luckily I didn't crash and break anything worse. So i adjusted my breaks and tried to fix the wheel(all while squatting in a four inch deep puddle).
It rained for until about 3pm, it was cold. I called a friend and arranged her to pick me up. I was worried about the weather.
After the rain cleared, I had an amazing tailwind. I Flew the last 30 miles in under two hours. IT felt super awesome and a great way to finish the last leg of my trip to LA.
I ended up getting picked up in Venture County, with about 50 miles to go to finish my trip. I hade to rethink a couple aspects of my tour.
I spent about a week in Los Angeles. I saw a couple really good friends and had a blast. It was great catching up with old friends.

Day five

The next morning I woke up in pismo beach. It was cold, my tent and bicycle were covered in ice. I rode threw a bunch of fields growing artichokes and brussel sprouts. Also I passed a bunch of farm towns. Needless to say they were very poor, but it was a welcome change from all the tourist beach towns I had been riding threw. I had a late lunch in Lompoc and continued to head south. It was starting to get dark and on some desent I hit something in the road, I came to a sign that said 2 mile 7% downhill. I stopped to check my brakes and realized my rear wheel was messed up. I took the hill very slowly, it was dark now. Three miles after the hill I came to my campsite. Due to budget cuts it was closed. Frustrated I continued on. I ended up "stealth" camping at a vista point on the side of the highway. The view was amazing, I was on a bluff overlooking the pacific ocean with a couple oil dereks in the distance. At midnight it started to rain.
