I decided to catch a bus to Arizona. My bike is not working right and i need some time(money) to fix it. My sister lives in Phoenix and i can stay with her for a bit and get my situation settled.
its been a bit since i have updated.
The last time i updated i was asleep on the side of Highway 101 in California.
A storm came threw and I woke up to the rain. After breaking down my "campsite", I looked into fixing my rear wheel. It turns out i dented the rim. While descending the last hill I believe i hit a large rock in the road. Luckily I didn't crash and break anything worse. So i adjusted my breaks and tried to fix the wheel(all while squatting in a four inch deep puddle).
It rained for until about 3pm, it was cold. I called a friend and arranged her to pick me up. I was worried about the weather.
After the rain cleared, I had an amazing tailwind. I Flew the last 30 miles in under two hours. IT felt super awesome and a great way to finish the last leg of my trip to LA.
I ended up getting picked up in Venture County, with about 50 miles to go to finish my trip. I hade to rethink a couple aspects of my tour.
I spent about a week in Los Angeles. I saw a couple really good friends and had a blast. It was great catching up with old friends.

Day five

The next morning I woke up in pismo beach. It was cold, my tent and bicycle were covered in ice. I rode threw a bunch of fields growing artichokes and brussel sprouts. Also I passed a bunch of farm towns. Needless to say they were very poor, but it was a welcome change from all the tourist beach towns I had been riding threw. I had a late lunch in Lompoc and continued to head south. It was starting to get dark and on some desent I hit something in the road, I came to a sign that said 2 mile 7% downhill. I stopped to check my brakes and realized my rear wheel was messed up. I took the hill very slowly, it was dark now. Three miles after the hill I came to my campsite. Due to budget cuts it was closed. Frustrated I continued on. I ended up "stealth" camping at a vista point on the side of the highway. The view was amazing, I was on a bluff overlooking the pacific ocean with a couple oil dereks in the distance. At midnight it started to rain.

The last few days have been "fun". After monteray, I travelled along the coast it was alot of up and down. I was very tired. I road 64 miles. My average mph could have been better but I'm happy with my progress.

Day four started off well, a couple miles of hills, and then I hit some flats and the miles really flew by. Around halfway threw the day I saw an amazing sight, bull elephant seals fight for dominance. It was intense to put it mildly. After the elephants I saw a super cute sea otter, he was floating on his back trying to open something with a rock. Super cute!!!
Soon I ran into a fellow bicycle tourist. He was headind to SF from the east coast. We talked about the route, he was in good spirits so we parted ways.
Then my day took a wrong turn, according to my map (iPhone) there is a road going from Morro Bay to Pismo beach. Well after miles of road suddenly ended. I was pissed!! So I turned around and headed back. It was dark now and I had no idea where I was gonna stay. Then a cyclist road passed me and asked if I needed any help. I told him my ordeal and he offered me a place to stay. To say the least I was stoked. We talked for a few mins the hit a large desent.(something I allready climbed) Well he dropped me. What a jerk!!!! With nothing else to do I pushed on.
I made it to pismo beach after riding in the dark for three hours when I got to the camp site I ran into another cycle tourer. We split a campsite and I got a good nights rest. The next morning I looked at my bike computer, I did 98.9 miles the day before. Good progress too bad I went 20 miles out of the way.

Day tww

Onward, rode to Monterey from Santa Cruz. It was a pretty easy ride with one minor mishap. Kelly, a friend I stayed with, gave me really great directions and tips. Also she cooked me an amazing dinner. It was really nice of her to take me in on such short notice.
So while I was desending down a hill I hit a pot hole and my handlebar bag flew off in front of me. I estemate I was going about 30 mph, if I would have hit the bag I could have been hurt pretty badly. I think I was carrying too much in the bag. I
moved some stuff and I pray it doesn't happen again.

Today I saw a couple hundred seals, some jelly fish a few hawks, and one black squirrel.

Day 1

The start of my adventure. I reluctantly left San Francisco this morning. It was hard to go, but I woke up and headed out. It was overcast allday long, the sun never poked his little face out to warm me up. I made it to Santa Cruz with no real issues, some minor mechanical problems along the way but I stopped by the bike church and fixed them. Tomororrow looks fun, I have no idea where I'm gonna stay or how far I shall go.

I need to be able to climb better, any hill I came only across I was averaging 5mph..
